Again, British Nationals will stage a musical-play this November and chosen for the second time for a role. The pay is low but the experience is massive like we had the first time last year. All actors are required to speak British and we are only two Pinoys in the cast.
Honestly, I prefer American accent but in this instance it has to be British. I’ll again twist and turn my tongue and lips to get the hang of the accent. I still have but I have to polish it once more. It will be hard but I cannot refuse such an invitation.
Faking the accent seems naturally heard if taught the right way but because I am a Filipino casts me as unnatural with such approach – really meant to be heard not seen. I’ll be doing some readings every now and then to improve and let’s see what happens.
